A Quick Life Update

TLDR: I have hernia surgery early next week and I don't know what my capacity for work will be

Hello all! I just wanted to give you all a quick update on me, my health, and my schedule this week and next. I am finally getting hernia surgery next week! This is the surgery I was told last year I had to lose 50 lbs for. It was frustrating to hear at the time but has also led me on a wonderful fitness journey all this year that I plan to continue forever.

I'll have more thoughts on my health journey another time, but the reason I wanted to write this is to say that this week I am very busy trying to close out all the work I have on my plate before the surgery. I am planning on getting a newsletter out Friday for paid subscribers, but will not have a chance to write a free one this week. My apologies.

Also next week, I simply don't know what my capacity for sitting and writing will be. Let's plan on no newsletter next week, and then if the act of writing something feels in reach, I can surprise you all with something in your inbox.

After next week, I'll be back with my sort of regular cadence of one free/one paywalled piece each week for the foreseeable future! Part of me is glad that summer is over, I will not miss the heat, and also my life settles down and I can really focus on my work.
